DB Forensic respects your privacy and is committed to protecting personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and manage personal
information, and how you can access or correct your information. This policy is available free of charge and can be provided in alternative formats upon request.
The Types of Personal Information We Collect

We may collect and hold personal information such as: names, addresses, email, and contact details; date of birth, tax file numbers, ABNs, and government identifiers; employment, income, and financial records; superannuation and investment details; bank account details for payments and refunds; information provided in engagement letters, forms, or supporting documents. In some cases, we may collect sensitive information (such as health details relevant to tax offsets) where authorised by law or with consent.
How We Collect and Hold Personal Information

We collect personal information directly from clients and, where authorised, from representatives or third parties such as the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) or ASIC. Information may also be collected from publicly available sources where relevant to our services. We use secure systems and take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. ​
Purposes for Which We Collect, Use, and Disclose Information

We collect, hold, use, and disclose personal information to: provide accounting, taxation, forensic, and advisory services; meet our legal, regulatory, and professional obligations; communicate with clients about their financial and taxation matters; manage client relationships and improve service
delivery; support internal business operations and compliance. We will not use or disclose personal information for any other purpose without consent, unless required or permitted by law.
Disclosure to Third Parties

We may disclose personal information to: the ATO, ASIC, and other regulators; banks, superannuation funds, and financial institutions; professional advisers, auditors, and insurers; IT
and cloud service providers; courts or tribunals where legally required. Where disclosure is made, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient manages the information in accordance with
privacy obligations.
Overseas Disclosure

Some of our technology and cloud service providers may store data overseas. Where this occurs, we will take reasonable steps to ensure compliance with the APPs. At present, our primary service providers host data in Australia.
Access and Correction of Personal Information

Clients may request access to their personal information held by us, or request correction where information is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Requests should be made in writing to our Privacy Officer (contact details below). We will respond within a reasonable timeframe..
Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs or mishandled your personal information, you can contact our Privacy Officer. We will investigate and provide a response promptly. If you are
unsatisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au.
